Purgatory first began in Brisbane, Australia in 2017 as a side hobby. As a contemporary fashion project, we aim to incorporate the themes and stories of Purgatory into fashion and street culture, reinventing old myths and legends in a fresh modern context.
Two years later, with the help of many collaborators and a growing audience, Purgatory has since been featured on GQ Australia, Vanity Fair, Wired Magazine and shown at Brisbane Fashion Runway. Purgatory has been sold worldwide and is now based in Melbourne, Australia.
Our logo reflects Purgatory as the waiting room for heaven, created by god for sinners to expiate their sins. Those in Purgatory are required to learn 'The Virtue Of Love' before leaving to heaven. It is often related to eternal suffering, with those inside sometimes waiting for eternity. The logo in turn, is eternal - revolving in a never ending loop. The gatekeeper of Purgatory is known as Moloch, and has spiralling goat-like horns. This is reflected in the nature of the logo. This logo is a modern, graphic interpretation of Purgatory.
Purgatory is committed to have a low environmental impact in all avenues of its business.
